What is a self-contained accommodation?

Self-Catered accommodation is usually a holiday home or a cabin that is fully equipped with cooking facilities, cutlery, crockery etc. Self-catered means that guests provide all their food, grocery items, toiletries and consumables. The self-catering aspect of this type of accommodation is that it is not serviced daily and any consumables like tea, coffee, toilet paper etc. that may be supplied as a starter pack, but are not replenished during your stay. Once these items are used you will need to purchase more yourself.

What is supplied in the cabins?

Lazy Acre Log Cabins is a Self-Catered accommodation fully equipped with cooktop and oven, full sized fridge, microwave, crockery, cutlery, TV, reverse cycle air- conditioning, ceiling fan in the lounge room, separate toilet and shower, separate laundry with washing machine, sink and clothesline. Linen and bath towels are provided in the cabins though we do ask that you bring your own beach towels. Iron is provided upon request only.

A small complimentary starter pack is also provided in our cabins with tea, coffee, sugar, milk, dishwashing liquid, soap, tissue, and a spare toilet roll. Once these items are used, they are not replenished. You can purchase extra’s at reception or buy them in bulk at the local supermarket.

What’s the difference between a hotel/motel room and a self-catered accommodation?

A hotel or motel room is generally owned by the company that runs the entire hotel and has a standard furniture package in every room. A hotel or motel room usually only consists of a bed, bathroom, mini fridge a desk and a TV. These rooms will be daily serviced with fresh linens, towels, toiletries, tea, coffee etc.

At Lazy Acre Log Cabins our basic self-contained cabins have everything you need to create your ‘home away from home’ feeling. All cabins have a verandah with outdoor table and chairs and access to own carpark. Boat and trailer parking is in front of the cabins. Hoses on each cabin for wash down and engine flush. BBQs are available for use either at your cabin or in the gazebo area.

The cabin furnishing is a little outdated but each year the owners improve the quality and range of accommodation and introduce new offerings to help make your time on the Lakes even more enjoyable. Most importantly, they care about you and will do their very best to help you have a great time with them whilst exploring the region.

What is required on departure?

All that we ask from our guests prior to departure is to leave the apartment in a tidy manner, any used dishes are washed, dried and put back in the cupboards, remove food from the fridge prior to departure and any rubbish is removed from the cabins, or we can do it for you at an additional cost added to your credit card.

Any items in the cabin BROKEN, DAMAGED or left EXTREMELY DIRTY during a stay, guests will be charged the amount it costs to replace damaged item +$75 per hour cleaning fees to return the cabin to its original state. This includes stained bedding, towels, missing/damaged remotes, TV, lights & fixtures, stained furniture, iron burns on linen or carpets and food scraps on carpets. Excess cleaning or replacement of items removed from the cabin will be charged to the guest’s credit card or deducted from the guest’s bond or refundable deposit.

Strong Odour Foods?

All our cabins have cooking facilities, but we do not permit odiferous foods to be cooked.  This includes crabs and curried meals.  These smells permeate into bed linen, curtains, and drapes and in some instances, rooms cannot be occupied for up to a week. Cleaning charges and loss of income will be charged to guests’ credit cards in these instances.

No Crab Cooking or Crab Storage Policy

Lazy Acre Log Cabins has a “NO CRAB” cooking or storage policy in the cabins or on the property is permitted, should there be any evidence of this on the property then a fee of $500 will be charged to your booking for cleaning
